We are thrilled to announce that èßäapp¹ÙÍø is the new proud operator of TWO electric buses. The buses, manufactured by Green Power, were delivered this month and will start transporting students as early as May. 

“Our school system is steadfast in our commitment to ensure we respond to the climate crisis,” said èßäapp¹ÙÍø Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero. “With the support and collaboration of key partners, we are now taking concrete steps towards making us a more sustainable organization by starting to electrify our school bus fleet.”

New èßäapp¹ÙÍø Safe Routes to School Coordinator

èßäapp¹ÙÍø has hired a new Safe Routes to Schools (SRTS) Coordinator through a grant provided by the Oregon Dept. of Transportation. The SRTS program promotes students and families engaging in active transportation modes like walking, biking, scooting, using mobility devices, and accessing public transportation for a healthier lifestyle, increased connection to community, and reduced environmental impacts on our planet.

National Bike, Walk, and Roll

is May 3, 2023, and you can celebrate ANY DAY in May that works for your school and community. Walking, biking, and rolling to school help make communities safer and lower our environmental impact. They are also a great way to encourage children to be more active. AND, studies show that students who take an active route to school are more prepared to learn when they get to their desk.

Idling is bad for the environment and bad for human health, especially young humans whose lungs are vulnerable to poor air quality.
