The Alameda School Foundation
The Alameda School Foundation is a parent-led, nonprofit fundraising organization that raises money for teachers and educational support staff at Alameda. The Foundation is the only way to provide teachers for our school above and beyond what the district allocates in the spring budget process.
The Alameda School Foundation is one of 42 local school foundations operating as a non-profit organization under the newly established . Because the Alameda School Foundation (EIN is 84-2040549) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible.
Why do we have a Foundation?
Local School Foundations were authorized by the èßäapp¹ÙÍø School Board in 1994 on the heels Measure 5’s cuts to public education. Alameda School Foundation was founded in 1996 and since then, Foundation money has been used preserve programs at Alameda, such as music, P.E., and specialized library services, that would have otherwise been cut due to lack of funds. Foundation-raised money has paid for grade-level teachers to add sections and reduce class sizes and consistently funds Educational Assistants for all grade levels.
Money raised through our Foundation also benefits schools and children across èßäapp¹ÙÍø. One third of all money raised (after the first $10,000) is directed to the èßäapp¹ÙÍø Parent Fund for distribution to other èßäapp¹ÙÍø schools in need.
