• Vietnamese Immersion

    The Vietnamese Immersion program began in 2012 and currently serves students from Kindergarten to 6th Grade. The program is taught in two languages: English and Vietnamese covering all core subjects using district-adopted curriculum. Students learn to listen, speak, read and write in both Vietnamese and English. The goal is for students to become bilingual and biliterate.

    From Kindergarten to Fitfth Grade, following a 50:50 model, each day students learn half the day in English and half the day in Vietnamese; only one language is used at a time. Teaching is done in a comprehensible way so that students with limited proficiency in a language are able to understand through gestures, body language and effective teaching strategies without using translation.

    Students and parents do not need to know Vietnamese in advance to be successful in this program.

    Starting in 6th Grade, Vietnamese moves to immersion continuation with students learning one-third of the academic day in Vietnamese through Vietnamese Language Arts course and social studies taught in Vietnamese. Students also receive English Language Arts instruction along wit their other core content areas of science, math, health, and PE in English.

    Theo mô hình 50:50 c?a Ch??ng Trình thì ca?c ho?c sinh L??p Mâ?u Gia?o ?ê?n L??p N?m m?i ngày s? h?c m?t bu?i b?ng ti?ng Anh và m?t bu?i b?ng ti?ng Vi?t; m?i bu?i ch? dùng m?t ngôn ng?, không pha tr?n và không thông d?ch.
