A little about me:I have been a school counselor with èßäapp¹ÙÍø since 2014 and it really is one of the best jobs I can imagine.  As a school counselor, I am here to help all students develop the social and emotional skills that will support them as life-long learners and resilient healthy humans.  I work with students in classrooms, small groups, and individually.  I also work directly with families to address some of the many complicated things that come up when raising children – everything from exploring what will help your child learn best at school to helping you connect with services when needed for things like health and housing.  I am trained and licensed as both a professional educator and a mental health professional.  I’ve been working with young people and families for the last 23 years in a variety of ways that all contribute to my role at Woodmere.  Over the years, I’ve been a sixth grade teacher, a community service program manager, and a child and family therapist in an outdoor nature-based setting.

I’m also a busy mom of three children, who are now in middle and high school.  My family and I love to get outside as much as we can to hike, camp, and swim in lakes and rivers.  I am originally from El Paso, Texas and grew up in the Chihuahuan Desert, so the water and green of the Pacific Northwest always feels rare and amazing to me. I spend most of my day to day free time watching my daughters play softball or training our two great pyrenees dogs (just kidding – the dogs are totally in charge!).
