Welcome to Llewellyn Elementary School!
Mission
At Llewellyn, children are challenged to learn and grow in an environment where teachers and parents collaborate in every child's achievement. Llewellyn embodies the spirit of a community dedicated to children succeeding in academics and developing qualities of respect, responsibility and self-confidence.
Neighborhood School
Nestled on a ridge above Oaks Bottom and the Willamette River, Llewellyn Elementary School has been serving the community of Sellwood-Moreland and southeast èßäapp¹ÙÍø for 80 years. Llewellyn is centrally located, with easy access to those outside the neighborhood. Teachers walk with classes to nearby parks, conduct science workshops in Oaks Bottom and Johnson Creek and tour local businesses. Llewellyn is an integral part of the neighborhood and a centerpiece for community activities. Come and see for yourself!
Curriculum
Our dedicated and experienced faculty and involved parents are committed to inspiring children to become lifelong learners. K-5 graders are provided a balanced curriculum with students consistently scoring among the highest levels in the state in reading and math. The arts enjoy excellent support with artist-in-residency and after-school band programs. Field trips, outdoor camps and visits to the local Oaks Bottom bio-reserve round out a solid offering in the classic neighborhood school.
