Irvington Librarian - Steffanie Audel, MEd

This is my seventh year here at Irvington and I so enjoy being part of this community! Originally, I am from Austin, Texas and I have a BA from The University of Texas at Austin and a MEd from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and I went back to UT Austin for library school. This is my 22nd year as a librarian and before that I taught prek. My other areas of certification include ESL, special education, deaf and hard of hearing ed, early childhood, and general elementary education. I am very passionate about books and helping children learn to love literature and have a positive experience with libraries. I love talking about science and social justice issues with our students. I also love animals (I have a dog and several cats), gardening, going to the beach, travel, reading, and spending time with my family. My favorite book is whichever one I usually have just finished, but one of my favorite picture books is Sam and Dave Dig A Hole by Mac Barnett and adult book is The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck.

I welcome volunteers in the library and love to build relationships with the whole family. Families are welcome to come to the library after school to check out books too. You can reach me at saudel@pps.net. Happy reading!
