Our Amazing Counselors
-
Greetings!
My name is Tony Shoukas, students call me Tony, and I am one of the Access School Counselors. I have been a part of this Atomic community since 2021. As a counselor, I assist students by building authentic relationships, offering check-ins, facilitating small groups, and by supporting a healthy and safe school community where everybody can thrive. When I am not at school you can find me wandering around in mother nature, playing all sports, and learning how to creatively express myself.
I look forward to connecting with and supporting all the wonderful students here at Access!

Hello ACCESS Students and Families!
My name is Devin Harkness and I have been an ACCESS school counselor since 2014.
I am excited for the opportunity to support our students, families and staff this year, and I can’t wait to see everyone in person. As a school counselor I strive to make our school a safe and welcoming place where all students feel free to be their authentic selves. Whatever your identity, race, gender identity, ability, religion, sexuality, family background, beliefs, political affiliations, country of origin or language, whatever feelings you are feeling, you are unconditionally welcome here.
What do I do? My work as an ACCESS School Counselor is composed of a broad array of supports, including in-class lessons, small groups, individual check ins, whole school events, collaboration with students on clubs and leadership projects, work with families, coordination of 504 accommodation plans, support for teachers and much more. I spend as much time as I can connecting with students in classrooms, on the playground and in the halls.
How can students or families request support? Students can let their teacher know they would like to make an appointment with me, and can fill out a counselor request form. Students can also ask me for an appointment when they see me. Parents can email or call to set up appointments to talk to me.
What is confidentiality? My work with individual students is confidential, meaning I will not disclose the content of our conversations to anyone. The exceptions to this are if a student expresses an intent to harm themself or others, or if they disclose abuse. In those circumstances I am required by law to get outside help.
Please email me with any questions, or if there is anything you think I should know in order to support or advocate for your student.
I look forward to working with you!
