• Volunteer

    Volunteering is an excellent way to learn more about your child’s school, build a community and enhance your child’s school experience.  At the beginning of the year, you will receive information about becoming a volunteer and sign up opportunities. New volunteer opportunities will also be communicated with parents throughout the year.  All volunteering is extremely rewarding and appreciated!

    Volunteers are required to get a èßäapp¹ÙÍø background check. If you think you would like to volunteer, please complete the èßäapp¹ÙÍø background check at /volunteer.  

    The following are just a few of the opportunities for you to get involved at Abernethy School.

    • Classroom Volunteer
      Contact your child's teacher to find out how you can help in the classroom. From help with reading, writing or math to assisting with field trips, classroom volunteers are indispensable!
    • Abernethy Cafeteria
      Help in the kitchen preparing nutritious food for student lunches. A food handler's card is required for this task. Ongoing help for the students is also needed during the lunch hour.
    • Library Aide
      Love books? Volunteers help keep the library up and running. Training is provided. Contact our Librarian.
