Happy Earth Month!
Every day is Earth Day at èßäapp¹ÙÍø!
For April 17th - 24th, especially, we hope that everyone in our school community will take a moment to think about how they can make the earth and our community a better place.
This year’s website offers fun ways to engage and take action from school and from home. Find teaching resources, ways to get involved across èßäapp¹ÙÍø and in the community, plus April Earth Month events below. Enjoy!

Become a School Sustainability Champion
We just launched a brand new program -- it's the grassroots arm of the èßäapp¹ÙÍø Climate Policy implementation, and you can be a part of it! We are looking for any staff who work inside a èßäapp¹ÙÍø school to sign up as School Sustainability Champions. You'll co-create a collaborative network of teachers and staff who work with students, administrators, and central office sustainability folks to build student-led programs in our schools!

April 5 ¨C National Walking Day
To celebrate National Walking Day we’ve created a new highlighting the NW Flanders Crossing and some great neighborhood greenways. Whether you take a walk in Northwest or chose one of our Suggested Walks Around èßäapp¹ÙÍø near you, be sure to keep to the sidewalks and trails.

April 15 - Reconnecting With Roots: A Youth Environmental Conservation Summit
Check out the on April 15th from 1:00–5:00 PM at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. The event will be hosted by the Sunset High School Climate Change Club, Next Gen Innovators, and the Sherwood High School Green Team. The summit will feature keynote speakers addressing Environmental Occupations, Environmental Education, Climate Grief, and more! In addition, there will be interactive booths and activities to check out–these include local environmental organizations, high school environmental clubs, an environmentally friendly clothing swap, and guided nature walks through the refuge. The event is free to attend and we encourage people of all ages to join–especially youth!

As part of their 2023 Earth Day celebration, The èßäapp¹ÙÍø EcoFilm Festival is thrilled to celebrate water, with four new films from around the beautiful blue world: .

April 15-23 - SOLVE Spring Cleanup Event
Join thousands of Oregonians this Earth Day for the , presented by èßäapp¹ÙÍø General Electric. Hundreds of community leaders and partner organizations are hosting beach cleanups, urban litter cleanup projects, and restoration events all over the state between April 15th to April 23rd.
èßäapp¹ÙÍø is even hosting one of these cleanups at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School!

April 21-23 - Earth Day Plant Fest
Join to celebrate the abundance of our urban canopy this Earth Day, April 22nd, 2023 in partnership with the campaign!
This casual family-fun day will be held at beautiful Rossi Farms in the Parkrose neighborhood. This is a day-long event with plant sales, music, games, BOUNCE HOUSES, food and drink, and more; we invite you to come together with us to celebrate Earth Day and cultivate abundance into the 2023 harvest season and beyond!

April 22-24 - 350PDX Earth Day Live
From April 22 to 24, youth activists and adults are coming together for , a three-day livestream event focused on climate action. Earth Day Live will mobilize people nationally and globally to act collectively to protect climate and communities. The livestream will include training sessions, performances, and creative actions to keep people engaged, informed, and inspired. Speakers will include celebrities, politicians, scientists, and youth activists.
