Differentiated Learning

  • Differentiated Learning

    Learning Styles

All students have different strengths, weaknesses, interests, and talents. At Beaumont we strive to ensure that the needs of all students are met within an inclusive classroom environment. We believe firmly that creating as diverse as possible of a classroom community is the best way for our students to learn. It is because of this belief that we do not offer "honors" or "remedial" courses.

Instead, staff members receive regular training on how to design and teach rigorous curriculum that challenges every student in their classroom at the student's individual level of ability. Every teacher has a list of students identified as being TAG, having a 504 plan, or working on an IEP. Regular meetings are held to ensure progress is being made and that all students are growing. In our classrooms, we work together to make sure that all boats rise with the tide.

You will find information below that addresses some of the particular needs of many of our students.

    IEP

The Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) is a plan or program developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives specialized instruction and related services.

In addition to differentiated classroom instruction, Beaumont also offers alternative course work, individual support, extracurricular classes, and other supports to ensure success.

    504 Plans

The 504 Plan is a plan developed to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the law and is attending an elementary or secondary educational institution receives accommodations that will ensure their academic success and access to the learning environment.

In addition to differentiated classroom instruction, Beaumont also offers peer support groups, alternative course work, individual support, extracurricular classes, and other supports to ensure success.
