2020 Bond Mechanical Systems Upgrades
The 2020 èßäapp¹ÙÍø School Improvement Bond provides $75 million to replace or repair the highest priority mechanical systems (heating, cooling, and ventilation) in schools throughout the District. This funding will also be used to address smaller mechanical projects.
Mechanical deficiencies are èßäapp¹ÙÍø’ largest facility need, with dozens of schools having major mechanical system components in critical condition.
Detailed assessment by professional mechanical engineering firms will be necessary to determine how to solve a failing or poor performing system. Some projects will require full system replacement, while others will require only targeted improvements. These funds provide the budget to complete approximately 15 of èßäapp¹ÙÍø’ highest priority sites.
