    Amanda Abel has been the speech pathologist at Ida B. Wells High School for the past five years. This is her 22nd year as a speech pathologist and her 6th year working in education.  After getting her masters degree in communication disorders in San Diego, Abel started working in hospitals .A couple years later, she began working in education in order to understand what her own kids' schools and schedules were like. “It’s fun!” Abel said, “You see a lot more progress here than you do in hospitals.” When she’s not working, Abel loves spending time outside. She enjoys running, skiing, mountain biking and lots of other fun outdoor activities. Her favorite part of her job at IBW is getting to see the progress and improvement each of her students have made.
